Why Obama should debate Clinton re: Michigan
Fri May 23, 2008 at 07:05:33 AM PDT
I know a lot has been written about finding a solution to the Florida and Michigan dilemmas. I've searched around and haven't found any diary that suggests what I've come up with, and I'd really like to hear what people here think about it.
First, I think Rachel Maddow is right. Obama needs to publicly start arguing his case. I know the press has (finally) woken up and smelled the delegate math. But a lot of Clinton supporters haven't. They're still taking everything that Hillary says at face value. Sadly, this group includes my mom. I think she'll vote for Obama in the fall, but right now, she's buying what Hillary's selling.
Florida's easy. I agree that, in an ideal world, there should be punishment for breaking the rules. But this is clearly not an ideal world. I think Obama should agree to seat Florida pledged delegates in full, but with no supers. The supers caused the problem, they should pay for it. More below the fold...
BREAKING: Bill Clinton praises "moderate" McCain
Fri Mar 28, 2008 at 10:07:49 AM PDT
I just saw this on HuffPo -- there's a link to an ABC News blog that says:
Mr. Clinton said all three major candidates remaining in the race are talented and special people.
He did not go into detail on Sen. Barack Obama, the Illinois Senator still locked in political combat with Sen. Clinton's wife for the Democratic nomination. Their next battle takes place next month in Pennsylvania.
But McCain, who Mr. Clinton said is a "moderate", "has given about all you can give for this country without dyin' for it."
He said McCain was on the right side of issues like being against torture of enemy combatants and global warming, which "just about crosses the bridge for them (Republicans).
The meaning of stewardship

Steven Grossman and Hillary Clinton are right
In his recent open letter to super delegates, Clinton supporter Steven Grossman said:
...our party concluded that we had demonstrated the ability to act as stewards of the national party--and of the national interest.
This is my first diary, and I hope you’ll follow me below the fold to find out why he’s right.
